Independent Peer Revision

This was the guidelines that Al and I used to peer edit each others papers. We used this because we both felt that It helped organize what we should be doing for peer editing instead of just free lancing over each others papers. The only place I wish I had more feedback was I did like having the two reviewers because both had insightful comments and usually they would focus on 2 completely different sections of my paper.

In class we took a more general focus on peer review and looked at some surface level things like word choice an MLA. I had the same partner, Al, and it did help us. Since critiquing others is much easier both of us were able to take a good look into each others papers. Even with something as simple as MLA having another set of eyes to make sure that it is correct is very helpful.

Critique Reflection #1

I liked this process of self reviewing and peer review because it actually had a structure to follow. Personally, it made me have to critique my partners work a lot more too. The only difference I really noticed was having to follow a certain guide for the review, instead of just normally putting basic grammatical errors and “oh great job” into the comment section.

Peer Review Reflection 1

Peer reviewing is always something that I find difficult to do. I go through the paper and see if I can find any grammar issues. After that I reread the paper and try to find a few things that the person can improve upon as well as things that they did well. One thing that I noticed with some of the papers that I looked at including my own was citing sources was something we all had different ways of doing.

The comments that I got on my paper were very helpful pointing out some things that I didn’t put into my paper. Most were about the structure and how I could change some of my wording to better support my argument.
